Started building it in November 2025 while caregiving full-time. Eight months later, in July 2026, it became one of the first apps in CMS’s new Medicare App Library. It’s free to use.

Appointed to Verily’s FHIR Council, setting company-wide FHIR guidance. Led the semantic modeling of clinical knowledge in FHIR, architecting it with engineering, product and clinical teams.

Mayo’s $1.5 billion move to Epic took nearly 500 people and was one of the largest, most complex Epic implementations ever.

I owned antimicrobial stewardship, converting CBAM, Mayo’s first computerized decision support, built in the 1980s, into Epic from 2015 to 2017 with infectious diseases physicians and pharmacists as subject-matter experts (AMIA 2019); Epic later made its rule deferrals a standard feature.

Separately, a team of three of us worked with Mayo’s infection control team to build isolation and prevention alerts and NHSN reporting of hospital-acquired infections into Epic’s Bugsy module, used by Epic customers today.

Helped draft the e-prescribing sections of ONC’s Cures Act Final Rule and analyzed how the Act could reduce clinician burden. Also helped organize ONC’s national symposium on patient matching for prescription drug monitoring programs, where I led the overview session (write-up, with Carmen Smiley).
